Sleeping Set Ups

Postby Blue Bravo » Mon Jun 04, 2007 10:02 pm

Mrs Bravo and I were camping over the weekend (see Camp Site review).
We used Oztrail inflatable beds with a sleeping bag. Seems the air matress didn't give any protection from belwo and we got quite cold. We will need to do something different for cold weather camping. What do other use. Please remember were old farts and need some degree of comfort.

Mate i use a couple of those thin foam hiking mattresses under our bed (works a treat)
Can pick them up in overflow shops and the like for about $7.00

Im in the same predicament.

Crossing the nullarbor starting on friday I'm not real keen on being cold during the night. We have previously just put foam matteresses under the airbed to insulate it off the ground but im thinking a hot water bottle allong with the foam bed rolls underneath might be a goer!

You coud also try a camp stretcher with a 'foamie' too. I've fou nd them more comfy than the airbed wannabe's.
