We carry a porta loo when we camp. Sometimes it gets used, sometimes it doesn't, but it does stay in a little toilet tent close by the 'big' tent. When we camp and there are toilet facilities the porta gets used for the night time tinkles much the same as every one else seems to. I thought that it was just Jo!

I was amused recently when we stayed down at Wollondilly River Station with friends. After one night we headed up to civilisation. The guy (about 40-ish, goatee beard, 4WD, tough looking fella) says - gotta go to the loo. While he was off in there his wife told us he refused to go at the campsite - didn't like the looks of Brian's pumpout toilets, nor did he want to use our porta-loo. After about 30 minutes he returned to the group to a round of applause.

Love it Kev! You know, I have a bit of a weird thing about public toilets, and a # 2 seems to be out of my psyche completely. OK, I am definitely convinced I will get a porta-potty along with an Oztrail Popup style toilet/shower tent.

About 12 years ago I went camping at Myall Lakes for a weekend. It was about 10pm and took myself bush to go a tinkle. Squatting there doing my thang, and out of nowhere there was a guy with a spotlight shining right on me. It turned out our neighbour chose the same spot as me for doing his night walk-wee and sprung my lilly white butt in all it's glory. We ended up having a glass of wine with them and a very big laugh over it.

I know what you are saying about #2 s Dettie regular as clock work at home but my lower regions know when i`m camping because i can hang on a bit longer.lol my problem is i`m on my own with the dogs and can`t leave them to go to the ammenities block or they sook and carry on thinking i`m leaving them, so porta loo and shower is a must for moi.

Make sure you can pack up that pop up tent Dettie....it is a real art and I have seen tempers frayed many times with them.

They are great to set up but a PITA to pack up. Try it is the shop before you purchase it.

Thanks Gypsy - if they are anything like my beach tent, I'll work it out and get at least 1 demo... it is definitely a fine art but so easy once mastered!

Dettie, if you wear glasses, be careful the first time you open one of those toilet tents, mine went bush on me.
