Has anyone used modular tents before from CEC?

Postby Ximanz » Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:07 am

Hi everyone, just want to get some advice.

I've never bought a tent or been camping before, but I'm looking to try some weekend camping, nothing too rugged or extreme weather. When I have been looking around I saw these modular tents that a company called Camping Equipment Company sells.

I've done a little bit of reading on how to choose tents, and the size looks decent. However I don't know whether there are any problems with the design, material, etc.. that only experienced people would pick up.

Has anyone bought from this company before? Or used similar tents? Or does anyone see any glaring problems with the information on the website?

I'm particularly interested in the Axis/Zulu tent set, they can be bought for around $300 AUD on EBay.

If anyone has any information, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Sounds like a great idea to me - to add compartments and adjust the size.
Only thing I can see that might put me off is the velcro floor. Often velcro doesn't stand up well to repeated use and the fuzzy side tends to get matted and loose it's effectiveness.

Great concept, no personal experience though.
