Screen Tents / dome or canvas type

Postby Tanks1966 » Fri Apr 16, 2010 11:05 pm

HI ll, I need some advice, after our easter trip the flies absolutley freaked us out while eating and preparing. I noticed some campers have those screen dome / tents. My wife said we must buy one.
Firstly, I cant see them being water resistant especially with all that opening.
We only want to eat in eat (4 of us) and prepare food. IM worried would I need a tarp over it incase it rains?
Do some scrren tents come with windo flaps so u can roll them down at night incase of rain?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

I'm not sure what tent you have, however Oztent make a screen room that fits under the awning of the tent. I don't think the pics show it, but there are also sides that can be zipped onto the awning, thus giving you full protection from the elements and flies.

There are also a few domes around that have pull-down rain covers and awnings:
