The Gorge Aratula

Here are pics from my camp at Aratula this weekend. This weekend was a catch up with my full time travelling friends on their way south which is why Aratula was the destination of choice. My friends are off to pick and pack blueberries….wish I’d been going too.

We travelled out together on Friday morning & after stopping off at the fisho to get some yummy prawns again…Friday’s night dinner. My daughter & her hubby arrived late Friday arvo.

I cooked scones on Saturday for morning tea…..unfortunately they were gobbled up before I got a chance to get a pic of them.

Saturday evening was roast pork in the Weber and Camp Oven Cobbler for dessert.

The creek was looking fantastic this weekend....there had been some water released from the dam since i was there 3 weeks ago. The flowers were in bloom making it look like a wonderland.

The kookaburras were not as prolific this weekend as they had been last time so not so many pics of them.

We had great weather but woke this morning to rain on the roof. Fortunately it cleared enough for pack up today.

I understand it is a weed of some sort PJ....at least that is what Val indicated. In saying that, it does not seem to be something she is concerned about and yes it is very pretty at the moment....

Fantastic time of year to be visiting The Gorge Cheryl, it is always beautiful but even more so in September.

I have resized your pics to make them more forum friendly. They were way too big and we could not view them properly. The best size is for the forum is 640 x 480 so it might be a good idea to keep that in mind for future postings.

Love the rock pic....just Gorgeous....pardon the pun-:)

Yes Aratula is at the bottom of the range (Cunningham's Gap) on the way to Warwick.....though why you'd only want to do it as a day trip is beyond me!!

I also must point out here.......You MUST ring and book in ADVANCE to go camping here.

Because Gypsy.....Some of us still have to work and pay taxes so that the Govt. has enough money to pay the pensioners each fortnight.... :-bang

Interesting to note how many onsite at this hour ....
