I tried to get there today, got half way there on the bike and it started to hail so i turned back because that roads dangerous enough in the dry let alone hail.

Gee that would be great if you could. My partner and I and young son (10) were planning a ferry trip from Palm Beach over for a night at Patonga. The weather has very unpredictble here so will wait for the monsoons to pass (it really has been like a monsoon).
We are trying out the whole camping out of a backpack thing. I like the minimalist approach to camping. I think thats because I'm the one left to pack and unpack all the gear. gggrrrr.

Okay here are some pics of the Patonga campground. The council employee manning the kiosk was abit wary of me taking photos, although i did ask permission first. There is plenty of water for the kids to play in but beware sharks have been caught in the area, the water is pretty clean and clear. I said i wouldnt take photos of any people so i couldnt get any pics of the campgrounds.

The pub is closeby and although a little pricey for meals they are good meals, the fish is pretty bloody good! There is a fish n chips place next door but expect long waits, i've heard of a 2 hour wait before but i'm sure this depends on the weather and if its holidays or not.

Pics of the entry, they have 2 tennis courts and a new playground for the kids.

Thanks Josh....first time I have ever heard of someone being concerned about a camper/holidaymaker taking photos.

I understand not taking photos of people without their knowledge or permission......but a campground and surrounds!!

The campground was pretty busy so i wasnt going around to individual people asking permission to be in a photo, if its quieter next time i'm down there i'll get some more of the grounds itself.
