Fire Season

Postby Woodsy » Mon Dec 06, 2010 11:28 am

With Summer comes Fires, so make sure if your camping in the bush that you have an escape plan if the worst happens. Be prepared and if there is a fire in the area get out before its on your door step. Make sure everyone has a Role to get everything packed away as quickly as possible, only if you have the time, Tents and trailers can be replaced, The last thing we want is Dead Campers.

The closest I've ever been to a bushfire when camping, it was still a few kms away.

Here in Southern NSW at the moment, you'd have trouble lighting a grass fire. Everything is soooo wet and the ground is completely saturated. Of course if it does stop raining for a while, that will mean heaps of fuel.

Fingers crossed we'll have a safer than usual fire season.

Fingers and paws crossed in this household for a VERY SAFE fire and holiday season.

You'd think that something good has to come out of all this rain and flooding.
