Cleaning CT canvas - Any suggestions?

Postby shasa_pa » Sat Sep 13, 2008 5:40 pm

:hello:
Just wondering if there are any cleaning agents out there to clean the trailer tent. CT has 15oz canvas roof and walls. There are so many rubbing marks and rubbed in dirt marks now...
I brush off all access dirt and after, gets washed down by hand using water only. I have been told not to use any chemicals - BUT. There are so many marks that just wont go away.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on cleaning the canvas? Are there any chemicals that CAN be used to help that wont damage the canvas?
Cheers

Any soap will remove the waterproofing so you will have to re waterproof again.

Cleaning Canvas

Canvas sails and chairs can get badly stained if put away wet or dirty. Salt water is in fact the best cleanser. So take them to the beach if you can or scrub them with salt and water.
Tip .... never use detergent on canvas unless the manufacturer recommends it.

Just got this from a Google search i did.
