thought I would repost this here for anyone interested A WOMAN'S LOOK AT CAMPING
Not sexist in anyway, Its very family friendly and stress free ideas of travelling and camping AND SURVIVING while doing it
It is a booklet written by Julie Bishop and Regina Jones. I picked it up at the local Camping World for $18.95
The booklet came about after a family holiday to the tip of Cape York in Sept - Oct 2000. They travelled for 5 weeks setting up and pulling down 16 campsites. The roll call at the holiday's peak was 9 adults, 8 kids, 7 tents, a common eating area for 17 people, 4 4wd's and 3 trailers.
It just gives you many many tips on storage and packing, esky and fridges, water, certain boxes (organisation) Tried and tested (pros and cons of) - Tents, tables, lighting, chairs, medical, checklists, bedding, bathrooms, toiletries, clothing, washing, camping with kids, cooking, cooking equipment, utensils, canned, dehydrated, packaged, fresh, kryovac meats and food. recipes, preparing meals, happy hour treats
, 5 minute meals, desserts and checklists for everything.
The main thing they stress is that EVERYTHING has a home.
not a bad little booklet especially for first timers.
