Has anyone camped at Thinderbird Park QLD in Mount Tamborine?

Thinking of taking the family there next weekend and possibly for the long weekend in June.

Thanks

Stayed there a couple of years ago but it was in the motel, didn't actually see the campground. Overall the place was quite nice, lots of kids, and there was even a wedding. Short walk to Cedar Creek Falls. We only stayed one night and ate out of the restaraunt which was quite reasonable, breakfast was good.

The only negative was that you couldn't drink the water out of the tap and had to boil first. It was a hot day and when we got there they had one 600m franklin in the fridge for 4 people. It may have been aone off but might be an idea to check or takes lots of your own.
Never argue with a fool! They drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!

I remember going there in my mid teens, was pretty good, although we stayed in one of the cabins. The 'Thunderbird' eggs are good fun to collect, but exxy to get cut. Think it was about $10ea or so but when you've got a bag full, well, yeah it adds up

Well....we went and checked it out last weekend. Not really high on my places to go again but the kids loved it. On the kid front its pretty good. Mini Golf, Horse riding, a mine tour, creek etc.

As for camping its pretty average. The sites are very close together and although they have open fireplaces, there are no hotplates. The ammenties are also very average and a long walk from most the camp sites.

The place is pretty cheap though and has a nice resturant on site if you have a baby sitter. :-). Take your own firewood as its $9-$12 for a bag/crate.

2.5 stars out of 5 from me.

Cheers
