freshwater campgrounds - cooloola

hi guys,
we are heading up to freshwater campgrounds - cooloola in sept , never been before just wondering if anyone knows anything about it whether they enjoyed themselves etc , also if anyone has any pics of the campsite and/or surrounds THAT WOULD BE EXCELLENT as im having heaps of trouble finding any on the net.

Dont know of that site yet :? But being cooloola they have just had major flooding all through the gympie area, lake cootharaba and noosa areas so would make sure its still in one piece first ::()

Hi

Did a bit of a search in my old files and this is the only one I could come up with. The big thing with Freshwater is NO campfires. The pic below is a combination of a couple of photos. The good thing is the place has hot showers.

Middle photo shows a typical campsite. Bottom is the amenities block.

derek it hasnt changed much since then, they have a new dump spot for porta loos opposite the picknick area. handy if your camped on the beach. :grin:

Current Warning for Cooloola. Might want to check closer to the date. The tracks can get easily washed out.

Cooloola flood update
Due to current and forecast rainfall, access to the upper Noosa river is restricted until further notice.
The upper Noosa river is expected to rise, and for safety precautions, QPWS advises all visitors to observe signage and do not enter restricted areas.

Visitors are advised that closures within Cooloola include:

Harry’s Hut camping.
Harry’s Hut road.
ALL public jetties, canoe landings and camping areas within the Noosa
River system, including Fig Tree Point.
ALL walking tracks, including the Cooloola Wilderness Trail (only the Carlo Sandblow track is open).
The beach between the Leisha Track and Rainbow Beach.
Poverty Point road and campsite.
Kings Bore circuit track.

For your safety, please do not enter these areas until further notice.
