Close to Brissy???

Postby katthing » Tue Sep 25, 2007 9:19 pm

Hi ya all, haven't been around for a while. Hubby has been busy with work so no chance to camp. Currently he is having exams and when he finishes I want to go for a weekend away...

So where close to Brissy can we go ie 1 - 2 hours. We want grassy site, unpowered, toilet a must (small kiddies) showers are not essential, I am happy to go unshowered for a few days (not sure about hubby though!)

TA in advance....

Itching to go camping again.

Hi

Try Peach Trees at Jimna. It has showers but you need coins there as well http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/projects/park ... parkid=120

How about Boorumba deer park (Imbil). Toilets /showers ,free fire wood ,
lot of things for the kids to do as well.

Charlie Morland, Baloomba Creek, Inskip Point, all $4.50 a night per person. Permits needed, book through EPA.

all awesome places to go.

Charlie Morland and Baloomba are just near Kennilworth (small town), where there is a cheese factory which has tours and stuff. Lots of easy bush walks and serious walks.

Inskip is a all round easy casual place to go, with Rainbow Beach township close by. 4wd not essential.

THanks for the tips.
Unfortunatly got hubby's roster and he can't take time off during the school holidays due to another exam coming up on Friday and worse still he does not have any weekends off. booo hoooo
He wants to pull the kids out of school the week after school hols as he has 4 days off in a row but I am not too keen on it as our eldest has had plenty of 'personal' days already oh and they will miss swim lessons that cost us $40 per week!

I will look into the area's mentioned when we do have time.

Thanks again
