Batemans Bay

Postby Derek Bullock » Wed Sep 26, 2007 8:39 pm

I am thinking that a few days at the coast may be in order as I have a hankering to wet a line and perhaps dine on fresh seafood. Bateman's Bay is my closest so was wondering if anyone can recommend a caravan park down there that is on the water.

Thanks

Wow, thanks for that. I can see I am going to have to head off early in the morning and check a few places out first. They all look good.

Have stayed at Lakesea and the facilities are OK - like most parks these days the best spots are taken up by Cabins.

Murramurrang is a resort with camping. Facilities are good, there is a resturaunt and bar. Prices are prohibitive during school holidays.

Batemans Bay has several parks, but not stayed at them. Did notice the one at nelligan on the way down from Canberra. It's upstream on the Clyde River and looked appealing.

Derek,

I have stayed at Nelligen and its a real good park.... Right on the Clyde, pub across the road and nice and quiet.
Can highly recommend it.
Never stayed at Murramurang but been there for a wedding and its really nice but can be expensive (got some prices when i was there)

Made the decision and am heading off on Wednesday for two weeks. No bush camping this time as I will be staying in a caravan park. Looks like it will be the Batemans Bay Beach Resort.

Batemans Bay

Postby itchyant-senior » Fri Oct 12, 2007 7:18 am

g'day Dereck
Have just come across this forum page and have been browsing.
Nelligen Park (10k west of Batemans Bay) is definately worth staying at. Right on the Clyde, across from the pub (great counter meals) and some great fishing. Would be a lot better to bring a kayak. Another great spot is Shallow Crossing Camp Grounds (Hot showers). About an hour from Batemans Bay and some 20 upstream from Nelligen. Peace and Quiet - something we all deserve.
This message will probably be too late but maybe next time
Cheers
David
