It has been about for some time and I can't say that I would necessarily argree with some of the comments contained therein. It is only one person's opinion.

Agreed. I take all reports with a grain of salt, even on here, because what others see as good in a camping place may not necessarily be what I am looking for.

Photos are sometimes a good indication but even they don't necessarily give the feel for a place. Also the management sometimes can make or break your stay.

I posted this link months ago ... maybe even a year ago! Some of the comment are VERY whingy ... 'poor water pressure', 'manager looked at us the wrong way' etc. etc. But it does give a general idea ... VERY general idea!

The Around Oz http://www.aroundoz.com/ site was also a good one (once) but it is no longer updated which is a real shame.

The info contained therein is years old.

If you look at that site you will see that most of the reports are written by Chrissy Eustace when her, Bob and the kids did their round Oz trip a few years back so yep it's one persons view again.

Chrissy is the driving force behind the Camp Oven Festival thats held every two years at Casino.

Is there also one at Casino, I know of the one at Milmerran every 2 years.

I think there is also something up around Goomeri or nearby. I know they do the Pumpkin Festival but somwhere up that way also has a small camp oven thing too.

I understand Chrissy is also very good friends with the owners of the CP at Crows Nest in Qld.

That must be it, the Gin Gin one. Thanks Derek

I met up guy from up that way a couple of years ago (he has a worm farm) and he is involved in the camp oven event in some way.

He tried to talk me into going up and taking part in it but I am strickly a camp cook only.
