VIC - Upper Big River State Forest

Postby OzeBoy » Thu Feb 28, 2008 1:37 pm

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has been to the campsites at Upper Big River State Forest? Either of the 3 major sites (Stockman's Reward, Frenchman's Creek, Big River Camp) or any of the smaller ones? I'm thinking of heading there to go camping but just wandering if anyone's been, and what it's like, much water, busy, etc.
Cheers,
Oze

Well, I actually had a look at the campsites over the weekend and you really need a 4WD to access most of the campsites. The ones you can get access to without a 4WD were in bad shape. Huge holes everywhere, etc. Not very nice for camping. Well, not what I'm (and I'm sure many others) would be after anyway. My advice, skip it and go elsewhere.
