Bribie Island

Postby snake_dr » Fri Mar 07, 2008 2:35 pm

Hey everyone, 1st post, so hi there!

We have had our camper trailer now for a few weeks and are looking to head to Bribie next weekend.

So just chasing some information on the goods, bads & uglies of the place.

For some reason when I search for Bribie I get nothing, but I know there are posts about it, so i dont know whats going on there.

Any info would be great

Cheers!

The camping .com group stayed at Bongaree two weeks ago.Bongaree is the "calm" surf side
Woorimis the surf side. Look at the posts in Groups /4wd/social events February weekend.

Hi bill, wifey & 4m old baby Emma and WELCOME to the forum. I can't personally give you any info on Bribie but I am sure there are members here who can as they have recently returned from a forum gathering there.

I can say though that you will get heaps of info and some great ideas from members of this forum, they are a great bunch who like to share their stories and ideas.

We all look forward to hearing about your camping experiences and comments on where you have been.

Cheers Gypsy.

im taking along some friends who are keen to do some sand driving, is there anything we need to look out for? it looks like there are some spots you arent supposed to go but im guessing they will be well signed

You have to have a permit to go in the 4x4 areas of Bribie. You get it at the Queensland parks & wildlife service ph 131304 or Bongaree CP ph 3408 1054. I gather you will get a map with the permit to show where you can and can not go. But yes as far as i know it's signed.

you can also camp on the beach [surf side ] after you get your beach permit of corse,
the only trouble is there is limited camp sites & you can only access them at low tide.
