How do you pack your clothes?

Postby Komodo » Thu Aug 14, 2008 10:29 pm

Guys just packing for the weekend and I started to wonder what every one packs in.

I use a suitcase as it packs well and is portable and keeps my clothes neat.
I know a lot of people in campers and caravans use plastic boxes and most tent campers I know pack in sports type bags which i've never had much luck with.

Depending on the length of stay, l have a back pack for overnighters and a large sports bag for longer stays. I always seem to over pack clothing as l always like to be prepared for all types of weather and don't like to be caught short.

sports bag or backpack depending on the stay. I find plastic boxes get over packed and become very heavy to lift.

I'm with you on this one Komodo - a small suitcase. I find it impossible to keep things flat and neat in a sports type bag. At least in the case everthing stays pretty much as it was when it was packed.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

I use an over night bag which is soft and has no issues if squashed.

We use sportsbags.

Heres a tip

If you want your cloths to stay nice and neat, nearly rinkle free roll them up dont fold them. I roll all my clothes and wear them out without neading to iron them.

See now you to can use a sportsbag

Yep, rolling them is definitely the way to go and will usually fit more in as well.

Clothes? You mean people actually take clean clothes for camping, let alone worry whether they get a bit crumpled. Well I never knew that. :***

Just kidding, we don't take much and usually plan exactly what we'll need to last the amount of days and chuck them in a soft holdall type bag. It is a bit of a pain though, cos stuff does tend to migrate and get left hanging over the backs of chairs etc.

We use a couple of large sports bags. As for worrying about wrinkles, my clothes and children don't know what an iron is, so that's not a problem.

Biggest bags I can get hubby to carry for starters. I do have one large problem that if anyone can help would be great. Our 8yr old gets his own clothes on and off so this also means in and out of his bag. I find more clean clothes on the floor and the bag we have now worked out is for his wet clothes. The dry ones that maybe left in the bag are for helping to drain the water out his wet ones. And when we get home from about 2 weeks holidays our house guest volunteered for the washing (10 loads last trip). We are going away for 3 weeks this time and she said she wont be here for washing when we get back. NOT SURE WHY!!!! :*** :*** :+
Ca't get enough camping.
