Looking through the RACQ book thought this place looked ok,anyone been there?
Pets are apparently allowed in the cabins with you, tempting to ditch the tent and splurge.

DON'T DO IT!!!!! I stayed there last Australia Day weekend, and it was that bad we left on the Saturday. It is full of international backpackers that are there for the fruit picking. They get home in the afternoon and it's party central until all hours. When you're finally getting some sleep at about 5 in the monring, a generator kicks in to spoil the only peaceful time of the day. The idyllic "lake" you see in the photo is more like a mosquito infested swampland. This goes down as the worst place I have ever camped in. I believe Gypsy found another relatively new spot in the Stanthorpe are that was quite good. I can't recall the name of it - but Gypsy did put a thread somewhere here about it.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

I drove thru Stanthorpe last week.
Stopped and had a look at a property that I had seen for sale a month ago.

Cypress Ridge Cottages. google will find it..

here it is http://www.cypressridgecottages.com.au/

4 cottages set in the bush.
Away from the road, quiet, private and small but very cosy and well decorated.

It BYO breakfast..
Well worth a look if your happy to pay 130 a night..

I am with Amanda on this one too PJ...Don't do it, my experience with them was probably as bad as Amanda's and mine was the year before so obviously it did not improve.

And the place I went to is Sommervaille Valley Tourist Park and I have done a writeup on it PJ.
