Has anyone been here.
From what i can find, this area is large and covers many areas.
Basically there are many different free areas to camp.
So we are planning on just driving up and looking around and seeing what we can find.
This is one option another place i have look at is Dargo. Where there are some more free camping areas.
Here is a link to a document i found that was good http://svc065.wic466d.server-web.com/images/latrobe/camping.pdf
So yeah if anyone has been to any of these areas or similar can you let me know what you thought.
Gippsland Lakes are great!
But more for Boating, Bush camping wise You have some spots along South parts of Mcleannan Strait and the western side of Lake Victoria. There are various Caravan/camping spots all over place
I you have a boat there some spot's on the Bunga arm.
There about 3 or 4 free sites scattered around that area. No facilities. Good if you have a tinnie as there's plenty of Bream in the area. Further South, away from the lakes You have the 90 mile Beach. From Sea Spray to Paradise Beach there is plenty of Free camping tucked beind the dunes. Some spots have Drop toilets and that about a far as it goes facility wise. These spots are great in the summer! Bring a surf rod and hang on the beach.
If you have kids watch them in the surf incase there's rip.
If your comming from Melbourne you turn off at Rosedale it's about a 3 and a half hour drive from the CBD depending on the traffic.
