I have just joined this forum, and have had very little experience camping, well none really on my own.
My last recollection was as a child, camping in a tent at Hall's Gap, rain belting down, with dad and I digging trenches around the tent. As a little kid, almost anything is great fun.
One quickly learns not to touch the mantle on the pressure light, despite warnings. How else are you 'sposed to learn?
I'm up for it again, and think Santa is buying me a sleeping bag. Have the Swiss Army knife and propane stove, just need a tent and I'm all set.
I'm on my own, and have never been to Swan Hill, so ask, where would you recommend I stay? I'll drive up from Melbourne. Have even considered sleeping in my car, you're thoughts?
Would a couple of nights do it, and what's there to see?
