Much to our surprise, after being overwhelmed with oriental camping bitz, we've found a table and some really decent poles and pegs made in Oz.
The Disposals store at Kippa-Ring/Redcliffe has these almost rare items. The poles are well in advance of any of the krud we saw at Anaconda and Supa Cheap. Robust, better finished and, wait for it ... **cheaper** by several dollars each! And they come in a couple of sizes 7 foot-something and around 9 feet.
The table is folding, robust, U-legs and at $100 not much dearer than flimsy oriental ones.
The pegs are galvanised and very sharp, come in a couple of sizes and are ... $2 each.
The owner of the shop makes his own peg bags and pole bags and they are very strong and serviceable.
Woo hoo ... it's not much in the scheme of the stuff we've bought lately but it's heartening to see that there is still some manufacturing going on in Australia of items which come flooding in from overseas.
