Advice wanted for Inskip Point at Easter

Postby thompsons » Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:54 pm

We're thinking of trying Inskip (?Sarawak) at Easter and have flexibility when we arrive through easter.
Has anyone been there and can give us some advice on what its like that time of the year; good spots right on beach; etc.
Also if we go over the easter break and arrive on Sunday, are there usually good spots left, or would it be better to go on the Monday when more people are likely to pack up after the 4 day break?
We only have a 2WD and trailer...and a new pup, another thing to take into consideration with camping.
Thanks.

Absolutely, totally agree with Derek. It is one place I would stay right away from at Easter time unless you like crowds.

You would need to get there at least a week before to secure a halfway decent camping spot.

We were actually only going up to have a look at the place to see what it would be like for a couple of weeks at xmas.

Thanks for both of your opinions, I was about to hit the 'booking' key when the replies came in....so you saved me.
I hate crowds so it doesn't sound like the place for me.

Am I right in thinking xmas would be the same as easter?

Much much worse. The last couple of Christmases the cops have been called to dispel violence.

Outside of the holiday mad times it really is a nice spot to go to.

Again I have to agree with Derek....to get a good spot at xmas time you would have to be up there the first week of December, in not the weekend before. It is amazing how many go up this early and set their camps up and then return to work until their holiday time.

i got back from double island/inskip yesterday, spent the weekend there, and even this weekend it was quite busy

you need to look very hard to get a spot at easter thats quiet, and you will always need to get there as early as you can, the other thing is people generally stay longer because they may have time off while kids are away from school
