QUIET spots in SEQ (2WD)

Postby kalouise » Fri Mar 20, 2009 4:17 pm

Hello everyone!

I'd love to hear of some very quiet spots (not caravan pks or 4WD only access) where we can camp in South East Queensland.

I really dislike setting up when you are crowded in too close and have to listen to everyone else all night... looking for a bit of the "serenity" :)

Thanks!

a good spot that i have camped many times is hedleys camp ground between gympie and maryborough. camping is along the banks of kairi creek, just off the sandy straights and can hold at least 50 camp sites. but i have never seen anymore than about 15 sites in holiday season. in off peak you will probably have the whole thing to yourself. calm waters for swimming and fishing or just watching. there are no facilities here. there is also a small camp groung about 5kms away that can hold about 4 to 6 camp sites. it has a toliets and a boat ramp. both places have nice grassie spots for tents
hope this helps

Lake Broadwater National Park, which is 25km the otherside of Dalby.

Theodore on the river on the edge of town is nice too.
I AM LIKE A HOLE IN THE GROUND WITH WATER IN IT - I AM WELL
