Looking for a spot close to Brissy with kids playground

Postby snake_dr » Tue May 05, 2009 9:18 am

Ive been given the okay to get away camping with my little girl in the next few weeks

Needs to be close to brissy, an hour or two is fine. She would love a playground or some kind of animal access. And need power so i can take a heater and keep her warm.

Anyone know of something with this? Was thinking of borumba deer park but its a bit too far. Playground is probably more important than the animals :-)

Cheers!

I was thinking of Stinson's Park on Christmas Creek (past Beaudesert) but they do not have power.... but they do have a small playground!

thanks the nurse, ive been searching around and think jondaryan might be the shot, little scared of how cold it might get out that way but the power is for an oil heater to keep my little girl warm so should be okay at this time of year

I have been to many camp grounds but I believe you may have to go to a caravan park to find a playground.

My kids were camping just about before they could walk. One thing I always found was that in the bush the kids will always find things to do and mates to play with.

Mount Tamborine could be good with kids - they could go fossicking for thunder eggs, horse riding etc. and it's very close to Brisbane.
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - then it's bloody hilarious!

You could try Bestbrook. It is only about 1 hour from Brisbane and they have a kids playground and lots of baby animals to pet and feed. They also do pony rides for the littlies.

They have powered sites. Just give them a call. Speak to Ray or Elise they are lovely people and you will find them very hospitable.

that's great Snake. I'm sure you will have a great time with your little girl. They just love feeding all of the baby animals.

Let's us all know how you get on.
