Camping idea's for BIG Groups NSW

Postby funnymummy7 » Mon Nov 23, 2009 6:27 pm

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum, but only kind of new to camping.
I'm trying to organise a camping trip for a really large group.
Hoping someone here might have some idea's for me.
Where are all the secret private camping grounds? (Not Tourist Parks)
We have been to Wollondilly Station and loved it, also bents basin but it is always packed.
It would be great if it had swimming and was child friendly ie toilets near by.
Not looking to travel too far this time maybe an hour or 2 from Sydney.

Thanks in advance,
Cassandra,

You could try Newnes where there are a few camping areas.

You can try riverwood downs, just camp in the paddock area no matter how hard they push the creek side, sites are very small on the creek and the creek is a good drop down. If your group is large enough you could probably take up the whole paddock. Really good place for families with dog and kids because of the indoor barn for rainy days.

Anywhere in the Chichester State forest is good, small stream and drop toilets.

You have Windermere dam at Mudgee, Glenbawn Dam at Scone.

Ps fill out your profile so we know where you are.

Thank you for the idea's so far.
Im looking all of them up.
It seems the group is leaning towards Sydney and south coast area's for camping as some don't want to travel too far.
We have people traveling from Penrith,Wollongong,Nowra and surronding suburbs of Sydney.
Wish we could all just meet in the middle lol ...
