Recommended Camping at the coast (NSW/VIC)

Postby webguru » Sun Jul 23, 2006 11:55 pm

Anyone has tried a camping spot on the coast?
We live inland and have camped in various places lots, now would like to try go to see the ocean. Has anyone got a recommended spot on the coast in NSW/VIC? No luxuries required, we usually take unpowered site for our tent, but like nice nature setting with easy access (no 4WD)
No need to include Wilsons Promontory, we managed to camp there few years back (yes, before the fires, fortunately)...
Caravan parks as well as State Forest sites are OK
Thanks for any suggestions !

NSW/Victoria is a pretty broad range, so not sure exactly where in NSW you may mean, however there are some great spots in Northern NSW - The National Park at Minnie Waters being a favorite. Sites are situated right on the beach front, firewood and water available, pit loos, and out of school holiday it's pretty quiet - just has to go down as a top camping spot.

Its a National park though, not SF, very very nice, and peaceful, just don't pick a public holiday as it gets a bit crowded. Access is by a well kept tar road and then short (<500m) dirt/gravel to actuall campgrounds.
