N/E Vic river camping w/ kids

Postby sirib » Sat Oct 16, 2010 12:27 pm

Hi All,

this is such a resourceful site - I've just spent 1 1/2 hrs reading!
My husband, me and our 5 kids (4-10yrs) are doing a 3 week tent camping trip starting in Adelaide the 1st week Nov thru to the 20th. Our big camping debut! We'll be in Ballarat for 2 nights to do the Soveriegn Hill gold thing and then we've a few spare nights before we need to be back in Canberra.
We want to stay put somewhere on a river so we can all just chill out before life starts again when we get home.

We really need some recommendations.

Cheers

We love the place, basic caravan park with bucket loads of tent sites.
A beach on the river is close by, or was before the rains.

In January we stayed at Willis Camp area along the Snowy River Vic NSW border
See my trip report for pics

Happy to answer any questions about the trip.
Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations.
