Sydney

Hi guys quick question, travelling NSW in May and the main reason is to check out Sydney to Qld border along the coast then loop back threw the highlands but back to my quick question! would we be better to stay up in say the blue mountains and train into the city for a couple of day trips or move into a closer location in town?
Normally we would bypass cities but we love Sydney and have some old mates to catch up with.

The camp ground at Lane Cove National Park would be a good bet for you.

There is a free stay caravan park at Richmond NSW. I think you can stay there for up to 3 days from what I have heard.

There is also The Sydney Gateway at Parklea

Not sure what either is like though.

Hi,

It depends where your friends are. It's a good 2.5 hours on the train from Katoomba to the City for the tourist run around the harbour for example but if they are in the western suburbs then Katoomba would great.
If they are north then Lane Cove or Narrabeen Lake caravan parks are nice but on the pricey side.
On the south side I can't really recommend anywhere except Bonnie Vale campground in the Royal national park. That's very south though but also a very nice spot.

Sounds like a great trip. Have a good time

As to Sydney we just have to get into central Sydney then we can access friends via the Ferry.
