I so do agree with you....I went last year to Stanthorpe in June for 8 days and temps were -5 under my awning and it was just fantastic.

Went out and collected pine cones for the fire...just great.

The snow photo of Girraween took me back. That was 1982? I grew up only a few km's from there and have photos of our yard with snow on the sides of trees when I was 12.

Yes in winter it is really only cold at sunrise and sunset other than that (unless your in snow) i cant see the problem,the trick is to be prepared,start rugging up about 3 in the arvo before the cold sets in once you let yourself get cold it is harder to warm up again,especially if no hot showers.

PJ is right, the trick to successful winter camping is definitely in the preparation....
