Drive To O'Reillys - Sunday 5 July

Postby Derek Bullock » Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:52 am

Short notice I know but I am going for a drive to O'Reilly's up behind the Goldcoast tomorrow, Sunday, just for a look around. Anyone interested in tagging along let me know. Will depart Brisbane early.

Back home from a great trip. Would have been a much better day however thanks to the boys in blue I ended up with a speeding ticket. Still don't know how I missed the 80 sign. I had the cruise control on 97 thinking I was in a 100 zone but apparently not. Bugga.

I think last time I went up to O'Reillys it was a dirt road.

Here are a few photos of a bush walk that culminates in a treetop walk.

Beginning of the walk

For most of the walk you are on a board walk above the ground. Even the rocks were not moved when they made it

Looking down about 60 feet above the ground

From the top of Green Mountain looking across to the coast. Yes that light blue area is the Pacific Ocean. It was a little too hazy for good photos

Part of the narrow road heading up the mountain

Great photos Derek.
Been a long time since I've been on that treetop walk. I couldn't get over how high they get with it. I remember my son was not impressed with it and kept taking off far in front. It wasn't till a couple of years later that i found out he's scared of heights lol he still goes up on roofs though but hates it. Is that road still very narrow most of the way and seems like it's on the side of a cliff?
Life is what happens when you've made other plans. :)

Yep, it sure is narrow for most of the way.
