Mt Maroon - walk/climb TBA - no you can't drive up the mountain
Anyone interesting in a little bushwalk? Will try to go in a few weeks. Maybe towards the end of September.
Mt Maroon is just outside of Rathdowney. It's a good medium hard slog up the mountain and will take most of the day depending how slow we go. If anyone else is keen, once we're off the mountain, we can drive down the road about 20 minutes and set up camp on the Condamine Gorge road beside the creek, have a fire and drink beer. So it'll probably be on a Saturday. (not sure if you're allowed to camp there but i didn't see any signs saying "no camping")
Note: you don't have to camp the saturday night, you can go home after the walk. Nothing is definate yet.
You should bring:
2L of water each on a hot day
Lunch and snacks
Good comfy shoes
There will be steep accents and decents but no climbing gear is needed.
