Your Best Scenary / Nature Photo

Postby Troyk » Sun Jun 03, 2007 6:45 pm

I thought I would throw up another photography post, your best photo of scenary or nature. Its one of the reasons I go places.

My favourite shot was taken at Girraween National park April 2005. It was taken from Turtle Rock (about half way up, I needed rock climbing gear to get any higher), and shows the Sphinx (which is also my avatar), Castle Rock just left of centre and the pyramids on the far left. I guess why I like it is because its the best shot that takes in all of the unique features of the park.

I am sure others have some good photos that show off the great places around Australia.

Well I am not sure if these pics are as appealing to some as Kramers but thought I would share some of my pics anyway.

These are a couple of my favs but I have cupboards full of photos, you could say it has been a bit of an addiction over the years. There is no digital enhancing in these pics, I am far too lazy for all of that.

This is Rainbow Valley, NT, wonderful place, very fragile.

Ormiston Gorge, NT. Not the best time of the day but a gorgeous place, love the trees.

This is probably my favourite photo, not because of what it looks like but because of the effort, this is the wreck of SS Merimbula, Currarong, NSW South Coast, we went for a day trip, saw this wreck worked out the tides and times for sunset and came back at the right time, waded through water to get to the right spot, and back, but so worth it imo.

Geez almost makes me want to dig the camera out again!

oh I like that last pic of the tree, looks like it's going to snap any minute. Yes I have a good tree collection, also had a fascination with letterboxes for a while too???

I am really interested in knowing where everyones pics were taken?? Or are they secrets????

Wow! Some of you are great photographers....

Unfortunately, I am a bit of a klutz with a camera. I just got back from a week in Banff, Canada (work trip) and took a hundred photos of snow capped mountains. Then I dropped the camera at the airport and it hasn't been working since.....

Oh dear!

Cheers,
Jodie

Thanks S4j, had no idea where Glendon was, surprised to find out it's near Gravesend, which I have relatives of relatives there, didn't expect to see water actually. Thanks for updating with place names :)

JM1375 perhaps you could take your camera into a camera store and they might be able to retrieve your photos at least, that's if it is digital?? What a bummer!

Wow awesome photos guys and girls. This is probably my favourite, and the only one I can lay my hands on right now anyway. :) It's in the Vic Snowy Mountains at a place called Mount Feathertop. We didn't camp there, just took a nice bracing walk up the hill and back again in one day. I'd love to spend a night in the cabin up there though, just awesome vistas.
