Mrs Bravo wouldn't let me go away without her :(
But then if she doesn't come with me I won't know what I'm doing the wrong way :)

In the past I've really enjoyed hiking and camping alone. Nothing like traipsing off into the wide blue yonder, sleeping under the stars etc. I was once woken by a family of kangaroos wandering past within a few feet of me getting breakfast. I've lain awake for hours on end contemplating the clear sky above.

It's a bit different camping in a multi-coloured tent with one or more kids tagging along. But certainly not a bad kind of different. There's nothing like showing your kids the great outdoors and relearning with them the wonders of it all.

So both have their charms, and I plan to do plenty of both in the years to come. Maybe I'll end up living in a cave on a mountain in my old age. Don't worry though, I'll still come down occasionally to keep my post count growing. Or maybe they'll have cave internet by then. :armsup

I need to at least have someone along as a drinking partner around the campfire at night!

I have never thought about going alone, I like groups and can tend to party a little, its a little hard to do that on your own.

lmao @ Mytribe

I have gone solo in the past on over night hikes

But generally its just me and Kelly, Though sometimes we will go with a group - but as a general rule we preffer to go by ourselves or if it is a group then only a couple of others. Dont like too big and rowdy groups - may aswell just have a piss up at home for that...

Having been single for a few years I always go camping alone. However, in the bush you meet some real friendly folk who are always happy to share a campfire, a cuppa and a yarn.

Postby Camping Couple » Fri Nov 02, 2007 10:32 pm

i have done a lot of camping on my own for anything up to a month
but over the last few years the wife has discovered she loves camping as well ..dont like crowded places though we prefer to go to out of the way spots either just the 2 of us or with another couple ..but either way camping is great
more camping less working
