Hunter River Botanical Gardens

Mrs Bravo and I visited the gardens on Sunday. A nice place to take a quiet stroll around. They have recently dedicated a tree sculture by a local Koori Artist Worimi Dates. It is a dead tree that he's carved with various totems and animals. Tried to get a photo but it is so large you can't get in any detail. A guide explained the symolism behind the work.
The gardens ask for a $4 per car parking fee. Well worth the price.
If you live or are visiting the Hunter call into the gardens. They are on the Pacific Highway at Tomago between Raymond Terrace and Hexham.
