A camp oven

The shop person told me how many quarts it is but I forgot.

It's round, iron, and about a foot wide.... but I will post a pick anyway... once I remember where I put my camera

Oh, and I got 15kg of rump caps off work to roast over the comming months :armsup

I'm tempted to buy buy a 4.5 quart camp oven from Kmart for around $27 (from memory) but I think I'll get fore camping gear first.

I pick up my tent next week and still need to buy a stretcher and sleeping bag.

I'm on a pension so camp oven gear might have to wait until next year. Planning on getting a Camp Oven Mate and a Spun Steel oven.
Cheers,

This one I got is either 9 or 12 quarts I think, and was $35

At a camping store. Brand is apparently primus but there's no markings on it.

Go Oz!

You'll love it. I have no idea how I survived without mine!
Hell im tempted at home a lot just to get it out and cook in it for the heck of it!

Remember to season it properly (see dereks site) and it'll see you years of good service!

Make sure you get a steamer rack to put in the bottom to stop things sticking and burning to the bottom (ie roast pork  )

Oh and pizza reheated in the camp oven ROCKS

Update!

Right place! Right time! :+ I was able to sell my exercise bike so I now have a 4.5 quart cast iron camp oven. :armsup

It is a COI leisure made by Primus Australia but it is made in China. This model does not have legs. Kmart had it listed for $27.49 but currently have a 25% saving on that figure.

I ended up buying mine from Barbeques Galore. Their listed price was $24.95 but I got it for $20.00.

I will season it in a few days time and test it out (in the home oven) at the end of next week.
