Vic Alps

Just spent 7 days in the Vic Alps. There are a lot of tracks still closed as a result of the Jan fires. The only access to the bluff and wonangatta from the west is via Stirling and the Circuit Road and I heard a story that a crossing into wonangatta on the south side had ben washed out and was impassable???. The main road up to the Bennison High Plains from Licola will not be open for at least six months and possibly twelve having been washed away in tghe floods after the fires. I couldn't believe the deer hunters up there. They where absolutely everywhere, Did I miss it was the start of the hunting season or something? Scott.

Thanks for the report mate.
We have booked into a high country 4wheel drive trip for late April 08. Hope things have greened up by then :)
