Pimp Up the Tent!

Found this and I thought it might interest those who like to camp in style.

Or perhaps for the person who is trying to introduce their partner to camping and needs to do it right!

More like a boudoir than a tent.I rember up at Peachtree's once some people set up with the works, even bedside tables and vases of flowers. at least 4-5 times during the night we heard them pumping the mattress up. Really felt sorry for them and was going to go over in the morning to see if we could help but they packed up at dawn and hightailed it.
Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.

That reminds me of the way my mother used to enjoy camping when I was a kid. We spent 8 weeks a year in it and our tent was enormous -complete with 2 seperate bedrooms, a walk in wardrobe and a seperate kitchen. As we always had a powered site the tent also had a full size fridge, stereo, kitchen gadgets etc. (She did draw the line with no TV allowed). But it was the little touches that made our tent stand out from the others - the cow hide rug on the floor, chinese lantern dangling from the centre pole, full length cheval mirror and for comforts sake a 3 seater "bean bag" lounge. How my poor father ever managed to fit all this crap in the car is beyond me!

Man and the guys give me stick about my setup cause I put a tarp over my tent to keep it cooler.

This is just a little too far for me. Cool all the same though!

They dont call me 'Kirk "Shaddy Tent" Matthews' for nothing you know ;)

At falls I reacon my hot box dome tent was about 10 degrees cooler than the guys with canvas "tourer" tents and I reacon near on 20+ degrees cooler than the other 2 dome tents in our group.

Kel and I could go for a nap during the day when there werent any bands we wanted to see playing where as the others just lounged under the main tarp as it was too hot in their tents to nap ;)

And i didnt even take the fan this year :P

Tarp over in summer for coolness and then in winter for warmth.

I am not sure that 'roughing it' should necessarily be a consideration when camping.

Couldn't agree more. I recall that feeling when I got the camper trailer and made the comment, the air bed and sleeping bag have gone to be replaced by a queen size mattress and doona.
