Cheese And Bacon Bread Rolls

A place to talk about anything well just about anything (this is a family show remember).

Cheese And Bacon Bread Rolls

Postby Derek Bullock » Thu Jan 10, 2008 6:37 pm

While camping over Christmas I did a lot of cooking but took very few photos.

I did manage however to get a few pics of some bacon and cheese bread rolls that I cooked. The recipe was a packet bread mix. On the second knead I divided it into bread roll sizes and after it rose sprinkled the top with cheese and bacon.

I just smiled when my son said, "Hey Dad, these taste just like real bread rolls." :***

Your rolls look better than some of the stuff at the local baker 8) Nice work.

How long did they take in the oven?

Generally you can cook anything in a camp oven that you can cook in in the oven at home.

I have never done it as I have had no need to but it shouldn't be a problem.

Just wondering, what brand / type of bread mix do you use Derek?

Can you cook with a camp oven sucessfully ( breads, cakes, .... all the things you cook  ) with only a gas ring ? ( that may be all I would have available at the time)

The bread mix is Tip Top and it's white bread. The best way to cook with gas is with the Camp Oven Mate and yes you can cook anything with it. http://www.aussiecampovencook.com/campovenswithgas.htm
