Well if being submitted for world's ugliest dog isn't exploitation, I don't know what is.
But then again so is being submitted into a dog show for prettiest dog,
so I suppose there's nothing wrong with that.

I'd have also entered him for world's most effective indoor watchdog even though he was blind ;)

I have the feeling that you are probably quite right Art, I just hoped there might have been a more positive reason behind it.

I don't know if that's a dig at me, the original thread poster, the dog's owner,
or none of the above?

Given that I don't believe animals have exactly the same self esteem issues
based on looks and vanity that a Human can suffer, I don't think it matters.

For all you know, winnings from such competitions could have aided in his treatment.

Definitely not a dig at you, definitely aimed at the owner.
