My house mate works for the Red Cross they are having a meeting with emergency services today as they expect the flood weather up north to travel down south and hit the Gold Coast. Tidied up garage and store room today put things up a bit higher,i did the right thing though and put the camping gear the highest and right near the door..

Woohoo! we need a good widespread flood here in SEQ. Unfortunatly your housemate is more than likely to be called to some goose trying to do something stupid.

Yes Scolers, that is what the emergency services said, they can only PREDICT when it actually starts raining but with the pattern of the weather they are getting prepared.

Possible, but improbable we will see another 74 flood.

Long term forecast, though this is from a water supply perspective, is that we will have rain periods up to Easter, and then expect dry conditions for the rest of Autumn and Winter. 8)

It always rains at Easter anyhow.
The situation is setting up for more floods on the coastal plains if heavy rain and runoff all meets king high tides at easter
Hoping I'm being too pessimistic though :(

I saw rain once!

Can we have a flood please? What did you guys do to make it rain?
Any man, in the right situation, is capable of murder. But not any man is capable of being a good camper. So, murder and camping are not as similar as you might think.

South Australia is always scarce on water aren`t they? I travelled across the bottom of Australia in the 90s and some places like Ceduna we were allotted one bucket of water per day, and some other places they wouldn`t let us shower full stop. Is this the norm jollyroger?.

Thats that wet stuff aye? Falls from the sky?

I think I remember it.

Been dry, windy and dusty out here. And when I say windy, I MEAN WINDY!!

Driving home today most of the journey was across the wind, had to have the steering wheel tilted prolly 10 degrees just to keep the car straight  And trying to accelerate into the wind, well, it was like being without a turbo again.

Then I came home to find this a few hundred meters from my driveway

Friends who saw it say the driver was ok. Don't know exactly how it happened but it certainly wouldn't be a stretch to say it blew over.
