Having a 4 day weekend we decided to get away, without CT or Caravan.
We booked into a Cabin at http://www.miradorsprings.com.au/
Arrived lunchtime Friday.

Visit to the Loy Yangs Power station.
During the week you can book a guided tour, I think kids would love it, this one would have like to.
Free BBQ facilities as well at the main site.

Huge electric powered bucketwheel dredgers, 50 metres high and 190 metres long - more than twice the length of a jumbo jet - are used to excavate the open cut mine. The dredgers can dig 4,000 tonnes an hour, or more than one tonne per second. The amount of coal they dig would be enough to bury a house within minutes.

Chimneys are 100 metres high, imagine laying the concrete?

Brought back great memory's for me,was an adventure for Von.
Bob the farmer and his wife had never met us, but spent 4 hours showing us around.
Von was on the quad with him, and collected all the Girls from the paddocks for milking.
About a hundred and seventy I think.
Great Time.
Question, are these size ,pictures ok for posting?

Great pics although a little too big but still fantastic.

pics fine on my screen

Being originally from Morwell, those are familar scenes. My father worked at all the power stations and my sister used to do those tours (she works at Loy Yang but has changed roles).
