New camper looking for some nice costal camping places for xmass break. Have small children an would like a large grassy shaded area to set up camp that is not packed out.

Whereabouts in QLD or NSW, Naomi? It's pretty tough anywhere to find a spot that's not packed over Xmas, especially at the coast.

Try Minnie Waters, 1770, Agnes Water, Flat Rock or Woodgate just to name a few. Google them for contact details

Also have a look back though the old posts in this forum in the Parks & Recreation folder and you will find quite a lot of info.
