The coolest camping gadegets you've got/seen/want

As per the title, whats the coolest camping accessory you have, or want, or have seen?

Stems from the sand spears thread, which i've never heard of, and now think are pretty damn cool

As for stuff in my possession, the only cool thing I got is an old Army chest, dated 1970 sumthing, from vietnam war 8) . Comes in really handy, its huge so swallows most of my gear, solid as a rock so I can beat it around (its lasted nearly 40 years and a major war... i'm trying to kill it but failing  ). And it double's as an extra table and can seat 2 people :armsup . Also have a nice hunting knife but everyones got one of them

Coolest thing I've seen is probly my mates setup. TD 78 Series Cruiser ute, huge alumnium roof rack thingy stretching from the back of the tray to the front of the bullbar. Scaf tubes come out and are clamped to this to make a huge awning. Loads of room for gear and you can sleep prolly 5 people on the roof rack

And I want a compound bow...and a sand spear :bunny
Life's too short to be grumpy, SMILE

I saw this on another forum and had to make one.

It's turned out to be an amazing bit of gear, will cook a bbq and then a damper on a hat full of timber same for a roast and vegies. Boil a billy or use a fry pan on the high level and you get that great smokey flavor that goes with camp cooking.

Good to sit around on a cold night in places that don't allow fires.

So far have had no failures, I think it will have a permanent place in the CT or roof rack

Cobb Cooker

Postby nozzee » Mon Oct 23, 2006 10:08 pm

Been travelling and working in remote WA for last 3 years. Left home with camp oven as you do. Had to buy wood for camp fire or no fires allowed. Love campoven the camp fire but not always convient.Meet people down the track with Cobb Cooker baught one. Absolutly love at first use. Half a dozen heat beads you got a roast and veges. Have done pizzas, stews baked bread and smoked fish and roo. Next to my hubby Cobb is the best camp thingo I have.
