'Wizz Bang' or What ???

Postby Rosco532 » Sat May 22, 2010 2:53 pm

Hi All.......
My Mother & Father in law have just sold their Toyota Coaster Motor-Home because they felt it was getting a bit to BIG to be driving around 'Towns' for them......
The BIG So......Is,,, What do they replace it with so that they can still have the odd week-ends away and may-be the odd longer trip of say,,,,a couple of weeks.

We have suggested, maybe they look at a LWB Toyota camper-van....or similar....
What they would prefer is....LWB, Diesel,Auto, Bed at the back, 'POP-TOP'.......

ANY thoughts or suggestions out there ???? (they are nearing their '80's but still very active.)
They have a budget of around $25,000 they are trying to buy with-in....You may even know someone around Brisbane who has been tossing around whether to sell theirs if they don't want it anymore....???

Cheers

Rosco

You could try the Rental co,s for second hand, they are usually well looked after.
Good luck.Anything to keep them on the road, will keep them young.

Thanks Titch & P J.......Seems its a bad time of the year to be a 'buyer'.....All their 'fellow' grey nomads have been doing all the buying around Brisbane and headed North creating rather a shortage of what they are after.

Spent the day driving around the sales yards but no joy.....even harder when the 'Turkey's' are shut...and often fenced in so that we couldn't even get up close....or have questions answered..
...Back to Ebay & the net.

Cheers

Saw a nifty little slide on in the latest Campertrailer Aust mag the other day and it looks a little like a turtle shell but all you have to do is flick a clip and the gas struts lift the top up to become like a pop top but with no canvas!! They are made in Tas and I have found their website as the mag is at home and I can't really describe it that well. Not sure if it's what they would be after but it's only small and easy to set up. Just another idea.

XB, I have suggested one of those slide on campers to them but they felt it would not fit under shopping centres...hence, one of their reasons for them wanting a 'Pop-Top'.....

I try to avoid parking under shopping centres even in my Prado as they tend to be really tight and the car gets too many scratches, dents etc.... let alone taking a pop-top under there ::()

Very brave two those two!!!! :+
