New Caravan Registration - NSW or VIC?

Postby ripley48 » Sat Jun 05, 2010 6:47 pm

I live in NSW and will soon take delivery of a new Jayco Caravan (bought in Victoria). I have an opportunity to register in either NSW or VIC, would be interested in hearing if anyone has any suggestions or comments on the pros/cons of registering in either of these states, mindful I live in Sydney. Ease/Costs of the alternatives. Thanks

My caravan, Galaxy 16 and a half foot pop top is around $30 a year to register,no stamp duty, no yearly inspections.
No inspection if you sell either.
Simple for me.

Don't you need an address in the state to register a vehicle/trailer in that state?

If your licence is in NSW Im pretty sure if you own a vehicle registered out of state you have a set amount of time to transfer to nsw. Trailer rego is pretty cheap so why bother?
