ABSOLUTELY, definately, wouldn't miss it for quids.
However, the humble CT will be staying at home.
Got a group organised to do THREE bush walks within the Wellington dam reserve in W.A.'s south west.
Idea is to drive down and establish a base camp, then do one of the walks on Saturday, coming back to camp in the evening.
Have organised a HOT SHOWER on site for all campers,(yeah I know, real pussies ) and for supper there'll be hot pancakes with the trimmings.
Whilst I'm on that one, last car based camp I did, we had a Irish lass with us, and she told us that a favourite back home with pan cakes was NUTELLA chocolate spread.
Yep, we were blown away, never heard of it. So, now we're gonna give it a go, stay tuned.
Sunday, we'll do another lesurly walk of 10 K's which will take most of the day, then back to camp for tea and a few drinkies with hot fresh damper for supper.
Monday will consist of a 4.5 K walk and then back to camp, pack up for return trip.
One of the bonus's of these camps is the relaxed atmosphere around the fire in the evenings with everyone swapping yarns, a great time is had by everyone.
Last year I organised similar but earlier in the year, it rained on the Saturday, scattered showers, but allowed the erection of tents and flys.
The evening was a different story, trying to get into tent with rain pouring down, was challenging in the least. Next day it rained ALL day with only 5 mins between showers.
The walking was great though, the group enjoyed themselves immensley, and all claimed they'd do a repeat, even if the fire wouldn't bloody burn properly cause the wood was wet.
This year, we're all taking down a bag of DRIED stuff to avoid a repeat, that's why the showers coming along as well, nothing like a nice hot shower and slipping into nice dry warm clothes, sit around the camp fire with lovely red. Crikey, I wanna go NOW.
