Hi from Tassie!

Postby Narelle » Wed Jan 06, 2010 6:01 pm

Hi all
Just a quick hello. I'm a Mum to 2 young girls and we are starting to get in to camping more. My DH never did it as a child and so we are breaking him in lol. We are thinking about getting a CT so you'll see my questions in the appropriate area.

We will mainly go to caravan parks at this point, maybe bush down the track. We are thinking CT so we can pack and go easily for weekends when our business permits. Being from Tas, it's hard to sight many CT's as there aren't many outlets/franchises here. Not sure if we will go new or 2nd hand yet, depending on what deals we can get.

So you'll see me around - asking lots of questions, thanks in advance!

Hi Narelle.....have seen your other post and commented there.

Your idea of breaking hubby in gently by going to serviced parks is a good one. Make sure you involve the girls in the camping experience by giving them their own little chores and it will enhance experience for the whole family.

Have a look in the Camping with Kids folder for some other ideas as well.

Note:

Here's a thought....maybe we should have a folder called Camping Hints for Partners who have never been camping before!!!

Cheers....

Hi Narelle,

Welcome to the forum, Sounds like starting at Holiday Parks etc. would be a good choice. Good luck finding that CT sounds like they are a bit scarce in Tassie. Good luck and have fun when you go camping.
