Trial Bay Gaol Ruins

Trial Bay Gaol Ruins

I visited the ruins of Trial Bay Gaol which is about 5 klms from South West Rocks and have attached some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Trial Bay Gaol opened in 1886 as a works prison and was used as a German internment camp during WW1 from 1915 - 1918.

A caretaker was installed after the war and the gaol was eventually stripped of all movable buildings and materials and auctioned off, leaving the heritage listed ruin that you see today.

Definitely worth a visit.
