G'day, first post!

Hi all. What a great site! I love it when I stumble across forums specific to Australia. Needless to say I was stoked when I came across an Aussie camping forum!

Anyway, I'm Matt. 28. Live in Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula in Vic. Love camping, I snowboard, surf, mountain bike, and motocross. I currently work retail in a snowboard/surf/skate shop. Lived in Ontario, Canada for 10 years. Heading back to tafe in Feb to start an IT course.

My girlfriend and I camp mainly at coastal regions, obviously for the surf, but would go anywhere for an excuse to get away for a few days. Apollo bay area is a favorite of ours, especially now as we discovered that we can surf, trailbike, and downhill mountain bike all in the same day...if we have the energy.

Looking forward to sharing ideas/opinions/experiences with everyone on the forum.

Cheers!
Matt

Bob and Chrissie Eustace wrote this article about it once and I have often wondered what it's like. http://www.aroundoz.com/a_campsite_arch ... _gully.htm

Chrissie is one of the driving forces behind the National Camp Oven Festival held at Casino every other year.

Thanks for the heads up mate! Perhaps a good alternative for when Tidal River is booked out, which is almost always mid Dec to early Feb. I wonder how the surf is near Bear Gully?
