Hi and welcome. There are a lot of camping areas around you and I am sure others will let you know them but a good start is always the EPA site. You can search by park name or region.

Hello and welcome.

We took off out there 4 weeks ago and checked out all of the camping areas around Beaue.
Most of the places that used to have running water are just about bone dry... is a shame because they are beautiful when we have had rain.

They may be worth a look again because we have had a bit of rain.

Any suggestions for a good location for a forum gathering?

Chick,

At the moment anything for a weekend camp within 2 hours of Brisbane to also allow people to come for the day on the Saturday. At the moment Gold Coast-Beaudesert area seems people are interested.

Bearded Dragon http://www.beardeddragon.com.au they have toad races every weekend.
Andrew Dryer Park Adults $5 Kids $2 Family $15
Mt Barney Lodge Adults $10 Kids $5 http://www.mtbarneylodge.com.au

Sharp Park Adults $4 Kids $2
Thunderbird Park Adults "from" $8 Kids $4

Please note that 98% of the above places are extremely low with water and would be better after we have had heaps more rain.

Check them all out at http://www.queenslandhiddenoasis.com
Or phone them on 1300 881 164 and ask to have the book sent out to you via post. It gives you lots of info about all of the areas and more.
Ask them for
1. Beaudesert Shire Qld hidden Oasis
2. Accomadation & Services Directory

I hope that this is of some help to everyone.
Cheers,
Chick
